OVAL CASKS

Oval Casks has particularly been used in the 'Rheingau' and all along the Rhine, but also in other wine-growing regions in Germany as well as internationally.

The so-called 'Stückfässer' come with the typical oval design with a capacity of 12 hectoliters.

In order to optimize and synchronize wine and wood, also German, Austrian or Slavonic oak come into play - always depending on our customers' objectives.

The origin of our oak is always strictly controlled and PFSC certified. Wood used by us will be dried and matured outdoors for a time frame of at least one year per cm wood thickness and to have bitter tannins washed out by rain and snow. Through that process oak gets optimized and guarantees excellent natural aromas for your wines.
