FUDER CASKS

'Fuder' is an old unit of measurement, that was primarily used for liquids and wine but also for other solid substances.

The very special Fuder Casks have still been typically used in the wine-growing region 'Mosel' and is traditionally made in a round design.

In order to optimize and synchronize wine and wood, also German, Austrian or Slavonic oak come into play - always depending on our customers' objectives.

The origin of our oak is always strictly controlled and PFSC certified. Wood used by us will be dried and matured outdoors for a time frame of at least one year per cm wood thickness and to have bitter tannins washed out by rain and snow. Through that process oak gets optimized and guarantees excellent natural aromas for your wines.
