From a botanical point of view 'acacia wood' comes from the similar 'robinia' or the 'false acacia', since real acacias do not occur in the Central European climate. Sustainable cultivation takes place mainly in France and Hungary.
The characteristically very hard and fine-grained wood has an intense color and a matt silk gloss. The spicy taste makes it ideal for maturing whiskey, brandy, liqueurs and other distillates.
The production takes place in the Cognac cooperage and we can offer you these premium barrels in the following sizes and types:
Optionally, we offer you stainless steel taps, racks and laser branding.
As an alternative to our Acacia distillate barrels, these are also available made of French Limousin Oak, American White Oak, Cherry Tree, Chestnut and Mulberry.
